Taking a few deep breaths because I have to triple post. I’ve too many events going on this week and not enough days to post them all. I think I need at least 3 more days per week to get in everything I need to.
Today’s post is a triple post including Tablescape Thursday, Thrifty Thursday and my new bread baking group Bread Baker’s Apprentice. Whew…that was a mouthful!
Last weekend we bought out tomato plants and I thought it would be fun to honor our awakening vegetable garden with a Tomato Tablescape for a Saturday Lunch. Plus I bought some new plates a LONG time ago and we’ve not even used them once!
The mini cake plate is holding some of the Mini Tartest Lemon Tarts that I made earlier in the week. And the fresh cut bread is Anadama Bread which is explained below.
I bought the plates at Tuesday Morning, 4 @ $11.95, and they came in the cute woven grass basket. I loved the colors and the primitive looking eggplant, tomato and olives. These are the first dinner plates I’ve owned with script. Aren’t they pretty!! I just love them!
I love pitchers, any kind of pitcher but especially fruit pitchers! I have gazillions of pitchers. I really don’t remember how I started collecting pitchers, it just sort of happened.
This particular pitcher I bought at TJMaxx. It was in the markdown aisle for $3. I love it!
You may have noticed the freshly cut bread on our Tomato Tablescape for a Saturday Lunch. The bread is Anadama Bread and is our first challenge for Bread Baker’s Apprentice, my newest weekly baking group. I am very excited to be a part of this group as baking bread is one of my absolute favorite things to do.
The Anadama Bread went together with no problem except for 1 thing…ME! My timing for this bread was not very good and before it had finished it’s second rise, my eyes were beginning to close. And there was no way I was going to be able to bake the bread that night. So I put it in the frig and hoped for the best.
Unfortunately, the bread flat topped by the next morning so I punched it down again and reshaped the loaf. Much to my surprise as soon as the bread reached room temperature, it started rising again. Thank you Yeast Goddess!!
The Anadama Bread was delicious!

Love Tuesday Morning! You got some wonderful plates. I think I’d like some with script now. I like the color and brightness of your table setting. I just started collecting pitchers, so I understand that fully. I use to bake bread when my girls were small. Nothing is as good as freshly baked bread!
